Travelling Documents

Travelling to Cyprus is very easy.  The documentation required varies, depending on your nationality. A valid passport is required for a stay of up to 90 days for all bonafide tourists except citizens of European Union countries, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway who may enter Cyprus with their national identity card provided it bears a photo. Some non-EU third country nationals require a visa. Further detailed information can be obtained from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Climate and Clothing

The weather in Limassol in September is warm and humid. Average temperatures:
35°C - 25°C (95°F - 77°F). No rain. Casual dress is appropriate for all conference occasions.
Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hats, suntan lotion and swimsuits are recommended for tours and outdoors activities.

Larnaca International Airport and Paphos International Airport are served by many daily direct flights from most destinations. 


The power supply in Cyprus is single phase 220 volts at 50 Hertz.

Currency / Exchange

The currency unit in Cyprus is Euro.

Banking and Changing Money

All banks operating in Cyprus offer foreign currency exchange services and quote the exchange rates of the Euro against all major foreign currencies daily. Foreign currency can also be exchanged at hotels. 

Forms of Payment

Hotels, large shops and restaurants accept all major credit cards.


Participants are advised to purchase comprehensive travel insurance coverage. The conference organizers and/or Diesenhaus-Unitours Incoming Tourism Ltd. shall not be liable for any loss or damage to property belonging to conference participants nor for personal injuries sustained during or as a result of the conference or during tours.

Working Hours

Shop opening times vary depending on their type and location, though shops normally open between 07:00 and 09:00.
On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday shops close at 20:00. On Wednesday shops close at 15:00. On Saturday shops close at 19:30.


A  10% service charge is included in hotels' and restaurants' bills. Tipping is not obligatory but is always welcome and appreciated. It is customary to give a small tip to guides and drivers.
